Did the race in 2021
Difficult to find - no signposts for event. Why so early as well? Makes it very difficult to be appealing to spectators. Saw no mention of the fact that it was more of a trail run in places - one section was very muddy and should've been dealt with (boards etc). The longest run with bike in hand ever coming out of transition. Mount line and timing line should always be roughly in the same place. Wouldn't be surprised if a few cleats were snapped on the rough road. No medals because of truck crisis? Really? 600 medals fit in a car or van so not sure about this one. Seems sloppy to me and why wait until 2 days before event to deliver them? Post race - no hot food. I'm sure I smelled bacon before and was looking forward to a sarnie after. All I could get was a coffee and tiny millionaire shortbread after queuing for 20 minutes. This was my first duathlon and whilst set in a nice location and I enjoyed the format, we left feeling like the organisation was below par unfortunately. More food options (and toilets) are needed for next time. Plus, add the cost of parking into the ticket price. An added inconvenience and not everyone regularly carries cash anymore.
