Route information
Swim
During the swim, the wetsuit is compulsory. The swim will be between Gallanach and the Isle of Kerrera. You will start in the deep water. Make sure to be fully prepared for a cold swim leg.
Bike
The bike leg will be completely off-road, and you will get a great taste of trying mountain biking along the course. You will follow a combination of landrover, quad bike and paths throughout. The XL route will be longer. During the race, you'll get to see most of the island, as well as getting to experience the fantastic scenery as you race.
Run
The off-road run will have you tackling a typical 'cross-country' style hill race. You will be taken through rough trackless boggy sections as well as some wild hillsides. This run route will be rewarding offering some fantastic views of the island.

Age Requirements
- Craggy XL: Participants must be 16 years or older to enter
- Tristars 2: Ages 11-12
- Tristars 3: Ages 13 - 14
- Youth: Ages 15-16
Race Briefing
The athlete briefing will be emailed to all competitors and posted here approximately 2 weeks prior to the event. Make sure you pay attention to timings, if you miss the ferry for registration you will not be able to compete.
Swim Safety
All competitors should please note: the United Kingdom inland waters are not completely safe for swimming, although risks of disease are low and risks of serious infection are minute. Swimmers who may be susceptible to infection through immune suppression, are advised not to enter the event if he or she is not in good health at the time of swimming.
Cupless Event
This is a completely cupless event so make sure to bring your own bottle or hydration system to refill at the aid stations.
