Route information
The name in itself is a mouthful, the route a smorgasbord of coastal trails, beaches and riverside meanderings. 17 miles in all, starting from the Schoolhouse Restaurant in Mothecombe, on the Flete Estate. Set in the delicious picture-postcard location of the South Hams.
The start involves a crossing of the mouth of the River Erme. The hardest section of the route then takes you up and down the South West Coast Path hills to your first Aid Station at Bigbury-in-Sea. Then it's onto the Avon Estuary Trail before finishing on the sands opposite the Beachhouse Café at South Milton.

Can't imagine there is a more picturesque 17 mile trail run anywhere in the world. Wading through knee deep crystal clear water in the first 100 yards, running along beach by Burgh Island and then finishing up on the very special South Milton Sands, weaving through holiday makers to the finish line. Absolute buzz!

This has to be up there as one of my all time favourite races! Starts on the beach with a water crossing straight away, so you will get wet feet from the outset! Beautiful route along the coastal path. Amazing aid stations, which even offered cream teas halfway!! Tough finish across the beach which seems to go on forever but we wouldn’t do these races if they were easy!!! Definitely recommend this one if you like water, trail, hills, views and sand!!

This was a really enjoyable race. Not a big field but relaxed and friendly. Beach finish was a bit cheeky but great fun. Would really recommend it.

Really great race. One of the most beautiful courses I’ve ran! I’d recommend to any and all trail runners
