Route information
Distance: 200 miles
Terrain: Roads/lanes
Elevation: 18,000 ft / 5,500 m
This gruelling 200 mile route will take you around the perimeter of Dartmoor National Park and over some iconic climbs including Dartmeet, Doccombe, Haytor, Holne, Merrivale, Newbridge, Peak Hill, Pork Hill and more. Some of these climbs have gradients of 25%.
You will pass through Princetown three times, on each occasion, any rider who falls behind the minimum pace to finish by midnight will be required to retire from the event.
There will be 5 feed stations along this 200 mile course. The locations will be confirmed closer to the event.
By popular demand, there are now two shorter routes for those not quite ready to tackle to monstrous 200 miles. They may be shorter, but they still include many of Dartmoor’s most iconic climbs. These races have a cut-off time of 10 hours.

Accommodation
Due to the early start time, you may wish to stay locally the night before the event. There are a number of options in the area including Hotels, Hostels, B&Bs, Bunk Houses and Camp Sites.
There is also the option of staying at HQ in the community centre on a camp bed for £15. You will have access to toilets, showers, washrooms and secure lockers. This can be booked at the same time as your ticket and is available on a first come, first served basis.

Event HQ
Race HQ will be located in the Princetown Community Centre. It will be open in the Friday afternoon for racers to collect their race packs.
Cut-off Times
Riders will be asked to retire from the race if they fall below the pace needed to finish the 200 miles by midnight. You will pass through Princetown three times and this is where riders behind the pace will be required to retire. There is a 10 hour time limit for the Leggero and Mezzofondo.

There will be 5 feed stations along this 200 mile course. The locations will be confirmed closer to the event.
Age Requirements
You will need to be aged 17 or over on event day to participate in the Dartmoor Legend. Riders must be 15 or older for the Leggero and Mezzofondo.
FAQs
How old do I have to be to participate in the Dartmoor Legend?
The ultra distacne is open to riders aged 17 and above, while the two shorter distances are open to anyone over the age of 15.
When do I have to finish the Dartmoor Legend?
You'll need to complete the 200 mile course by midnight. There will be cut-off times to keep you on pace for that midnight finish. The Leggero and Mezzofondo have a time limit of 10 hours.
When can I collect my Dartmoor Legend race pack?
Event HQ will be open from Friday afternoon where you'll be able to collect your race pack.
