Event summary

The Dartmoor Legend 20 hour and 200 mile road cycling event could be your toughest challenge yet! Riding through Dartmoor National Park this ultra will have you climbing 18,000 feet and so isn't for the faint of heart!

We focus on creating events to suit a wide range of ages and abilities from complete novices to elite. Our events include the Torbay Triathlons, the Dartmouth Triathlon, the Dartington Duathlon & Devon Dirt.

Route description
Route description

This gruelling 200 mile route will take you around the perimeter of Dartmoor National Park and over some iconic climbs including Dartmeet, Doccombe, Haytor, Holne, Merrivale, Newbridge, Peak Hill, Pork Hill and more. Some of these climbs have gradients of 25%.

There will be 5 feed stations along this 200 mile course. The locations will be confirmed closer to the event.

The full route maps and GPX files will be confirmed and made available closer to the day.

Afternoon Registration opens at HQ

Saturday

04:00 200 mile ultra starts

00:00 100 mile ultra finishes

Event HQ

Race HQ will be located in the Princetown Community Centre. It will be open in the Friday afternoon for racers to collect their race packs.

Cut-off Times

Riders will be asked to retire from the race if they fall below the pace needed to finish the 200 miles by midnight. You will pass through Princetown three times and this is where riders behind the pace will be required to retire.

Feed Stations

There will be 5 feed stations along this 200 mile course. The locations will be confirmed closer to the event.

Age Requirements

You will need to be aged 17 or over on event day to participate in the Dartmoor Legend.

By Car

Please follow directions to Princetown Community Centre, PL20 6RF.

Accommodation

Due to the early start time, you may wish to stay locally the night before the event. There are a number of options in the area including Hotels, Hostels, B&Bs, Bunk Houses and Camp Sites.

There is also the option of staying at HQ in the community centre on a camp bed for £15. You will have access to toilets, showers, washrooms and secure lockers. This can be booked at the same time as your ticket and is available on a first come, first served basis.
