Great fun run def be back next year. The mud made it tricky be interesting to do on a dry course. Hoping to do summer series too

Great fun from beginning to end. The atmosphere provided by Barnes Fitness was superb and really got all of us runners in the mood. The course was well devised, despite a last minute change due to the snowy conditions the week before. The course entailed a lot of mud, flooded meadows, a few gates, a staircase, a beach and numerous tree branches. All of these made the course extremely fun to run - there's always a new challenge around each bend. From what I experienced, all of the other runners were having a great time slipping, sliding and laughing all the way around. The support from the volunteers and event staff was tremendous - marshals were placed at all the right locations and provided motivation at just the right times. I mostly chose to run this as a bit of fun, but I even managed to put in a good time. The facilities on-site are great and it's a very scenic location. I was surprised there weren't more competitors to be honest. I'd highly recommend this run to everyone - whether you have X-trail running experience or not (I didn't, nor did I run with trail shoes and I managed to stay on my feet the whole way around).

Thoroughly enjoyable first Dinton X-Trail. Damp, cold and miserable in the car park but a bit of a buzz at the startline soon made that disappear. Nice flat course, but with a lot of varied terrain. Short sections of path/gravel, a couple of pedestrian bridges, few gates, many many fields (mostly waterlogged) and a short beach ! all made this a great run. 160 runners took part, but the race was never crowded and no waiting at all. The recent rain made for some interesting deep puddles and a lot of mud, so proper trail shoes was clearly the right choice. So overall, a great race and I look forward to a few more in the years to come.
