Volunteers
Rocket Race is leading the way for fun obstacle racing in the South West, with 30+ obstacles spread over 8km. Lots of people come to Rocket Race for their first ever OCR, but they keep coming back, and that’s due in part to our amazing Rocket family of marshalls making their day so memorable! We have a family wave, where children from 7 years old can run the course, with an adult. meaning we get a huge mix of people on course – from the very experienced and fleet of foot, to complete newbies out for a new experience; whoever they are, we want them all to have a great day!

Our marshals are a crucial important part of our high-energy experience and we always get the most fabulous feedback about our marshal team, so why not come join the Rocket family?! We pride ourselves on having lively, enthusiastic, fun-loving people out on course, and we’d love you to be one of them.

Roles are allocated on the day, so we ask that you are available from 8am on Race Day for the vital volunteer brief – we would ask that you are flexible and available to support us where we require the help. Don’t worry though, we will not ask you to do anything you are uncomfortable with.

If you have any questions about volunteering, please email the team at [email protected], and head to the event website to sign up. Thank you for your support!

If you haven't done it, then simply do it. If you are new or old to this kind of event it does not matter. It caters for all abilities and honestly is the best vibe you will get on a course! I've been back.. Again and again

I first found about rocket race from a friend, who mentioned it was fairly local to our hometown. I arrived ready and eager to marshal and help other runners when needed.
Kerry and David were so welcoming to new faces, and very helpful.
I thoroughly enjoyed helping them, that I signed up for all future events and have even run with their team colours at another event.

Ive now got my son interested in ocr races because of rocket race, and he can't wait to do it again.
Fantastic family event, great price, great team to volunteer for, can't fault this event and wish them many years of fun and events into the future.

We did the family wave with our boys back in 2016 and had such an amazing time we have been at every event since and have become part of the marshalling team.
The run is very achievable for beginners but can be run hard and as many laps as you like if you want to challenge yourself

The Rocket Race is my number 1 go to OCR, it's great completing alone or with friends. The atmosphere is unbeatable by any other run. The obstacles are unique, inventive and oodles of fun!

As always the Rocket Race was superb! Great fun and just enough challenges for all levels! There is also the option to run multiple laps, I did two, so if you start on an early wave you could easily run 24k!The Rocket team are always on hand, and approachable, but on the course and on social media! I have previously marshalled this race and that was just as much fun. I am returning April 2019 with my daughter to run the Family Wave, something for everyone!!!
