About
Run one of Dover's historical landmarks in this challenging 5k and 10k event. The Western Heights is the largest Fortification built to protect against Napoleonic invasion. Both distances are multi-terrain and include parts of Dover which haven't previously been accessible to the public. Due to the generous cut-off time, these events are both challenging for the more experienced runners, but also accessible for people at the start of their trail running journey.

Route information
Both routes at this event take runners on a multi-terrain route through one of Dover's prized historical landmarks, the Citadel, and Dover's stunning coastline.
The Citadel has reinvented itself over recent years, now standing evermore proudly at the highest point of Dover, it's soon to be home to a cultural variety of arts and innovation, and it's fast becoming a beacon for the regeneration of the seaside town.
The Citadel's vast revetment was once a jogging track for the prisoners incarcerated within the fortress, but now reimagines itself as an integral part of this series of sporting events. Details of both routes can be found below.

Parking
Free parking will be available on-site, please follow the signs to Registration from the car park.
By Bus
There is a bus stop outside the Citadel for anyone arriving by public transport. It is recommended that you check the times on Stagecoach.
By Train
The nearest train station is Dover Priory (Kent), which is 1 mile from the Citadel. It is recommended that you check the times on Southeastern Railway.

The cut-off is at 14:00 and you must finish before this time to be recognised as an official race finisher.
Event Rules
- Support Runners are not permitted on the route at this event.
- Walking & Running poles are not permitted.
- Bone-conduction headphones are permitted. (Unfortunately, all other forms of personal speakers are not)
- You must stick to the marked route at all times.
- Dogs are not allowed to participate in this event.
- Littering of any kind will not be tolerated.
- Abusive behaviour of any kind will not be tolerated.
Spectator Info
In the interest of safety, Hellfire Events advise all spectators to avoid the footpaths around the perimeter of the Citadel and Western Heights between 10am and 2pm.
