Draycote Water Winter 10K – January route

Icon

The race begins a short walk from the race village, and begins with a 1km up and back section along the upper pathway. Following this runners will complete a clockwise lap of the reservoir.

Runners will certainly be kept on their toes during this race, thanks to some short sharp inclines and declines. Nothing will compare to the sweeping finish along the home straight where runners will be rewarded with well earned refreshments and a finisher's medal.

Great course, it was our first competitive 10k as were training for a half marathon and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The atmosphere and encouragement from the other runners was great just unfortunately no spectators. Were now considering doing the next one here.
  • Did the 10k in 2019

The course is brilliant: it is broad enough to overtake or run two abreast and only gently undulated. Very well organised and started on time
  • Did the 10k in 2019

The course itself is very undulating which is good if you like that sort of thing as opposed to either a very flat or very hilly course. The events form part of a series and I tend not to be able to get to all races in the series which is a little demoralising. Theres both particularly wrong with the organisation but Id say the atmosphere is quite flat, no motivational warm ups, its just turn up and go. If you like minimal fuss its a good challenging 10k race.
  • Did the 10k in 2018

This was my first time at this event, and only my second ever 10k race. The organisation from start to finish was spot on in Draycote Water they have a very accessible venue with plenty of parking (and a great kids park if the family join you in warmer months). The run itself was enjoyable, mainly flat with some short sharp hills thrown in, enough to take the wind out of your sails but not ruin your run... power through! The location is very picturesque and with the lap of the reservoir you cant help but take in the natural beauty, all the time breathing a bit too heavily to appreciate the peace and quiet. At the finish we were cheered across the line and handed a very impressive goody bag just to top it all off. I am booked in for the February 10k and I am sure I will be a frequent visitor to this enjoyable 10k race.
  • Did the 10k in 2018

I'm in for the whole winter series here so it's beginning to feel like a familiar Sunday morning drill. Great course, good location, well organised, friendly atmosphere, and I got a PB!
  • Did the 10k in 2018

A highly recommended race for anyone chasing a PB. A mostly flat run with a few challenging inclines. Many thanks to the organisers and all the volunteers who braved the cold weather to make this run happen.
  • Did the 10k in 2018

Well organised and friendly race with all levels of competitors. Being part of a series is good to use as a training benchmark.Course is mildly undulating but fast at the same time.Fantastic marshals and one of the best goody bags Ive ever received. If you have any queries either before or after the event, the organisers are quick to respond.Highly recommended and Ill definitely do more of their events!
  • Did the 10k in 2018

Really enjoyed this race. Nice location, well organised and good value; the goody bag and ear warmer thing were great. Not as flat as I thought it was going to be but a good course and got a PB :)
  • Did the 10k in 2018

I enjoyed the race. It was well organised, good location and potential PB course. Also good value with a goody bag and prizes for top finishers.I'll be back!
  • Did the 10k in 2018

Great race!Competed last year so knew the drill but the race itself is really well organised!Great course for a pb slightly undulating and a bit exposed but generally flat and both times Ive been its been a fast field.
