Route information
The course is entirely off road, it is extremely challenging and very scenic. It is characterised by gently undulating sections along the cliff top coastal path interspersed with challenging descents and ascents through a series of denes. There are many steps to tackle along the way (approx 320). There is also a section through the picturesque woodland of Hawthorn Dene nature reserve. The course is approximately 13.1 miles and has been measured using GPS.
What's included
All runners will receive a t-shirt and a medal. In addition each runner in entitled to a free cup of tea and piece of cake at the refreshment stand.

Get full directionsThe race begins at Nose’s Point, Seaham situated off the A182. (post code for sat nav is SR7 7TT). Ample free car parking is available at Spectrum Business Park, around 2 minutes walk from the start area. Spectrum cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage of property or vehicles in their car park. (Please can you make sure all rubbish and litter is removed from this area).
You are strongly advised to use this car park and return using the shuttle bus at the end of the race.
The finish of the race is at Crimdon Dene, situated off the A1086. There is limited parking here. The post code for sat nav is TS27 4BL.
Event day logistics
Registration opens at 9:30am and closes at 10:50am. Please be ready to assemble at the start line on the path in front of race HQ before 11:00.
