Route information
Full Round
Distance: 64 miles Elevation: 2,901 metres Time: 24 hours Aid Stations: 9
The full route highlights the beauty of nature, as runners will navigate past wild garlic-lined river paths, climb past Dalwood vineyard on Danes Hill, pass through ancient woodland full of wild flowers and coated in bluebells, and traverses the striking Hartridge ridge, high above the village of Luppitt, and the home of Otter Brewery.
Runners will travel through lush vegetation, purple orchids, and woodland before reaching Goat Island. There are also some impressive climbs along the route, with runners tackling two of East Devon's best climbs, both the Iron Age hill forts.
The route then meets the sea at both the impressive Lyme Regis's historic cobb and at Axmouth harbour, but also reaches the heights of the Blackdown Hills, complete with views reaching far over Dartmoor.
A final section of Offwell woods spits you out back where you started all those hours and miles before where pizza, beer, cake and your East Devon Round medal are all yours.

Great event. My first time at it. Didn’t manage to complete the 65 but did do almost 36. Very well organised. Lovely people. Definitely doing it again next year. I’ve recommended it to my friends.

The East Devon Round was incredibly well organised and such a great atmosphere for a small event. The route was well thought out and around every corner was a different challenge to contend with. The marshals were absolutely incredible and I just can’t believe that an event like this is just half an hour away. The checkpoints were well stocked and even had Tailwind that was on offer (and the marshals even sorted it all while I ate!), which meant I didn’t need to awkwardly tip some into my bottles from my makeshift sandwich bag. The marshals knew the route that was coming up (something that seems obvious but all too often this isn’t something they know on other events) and were there to help you succeed. The medal is great and the merch being a very high standard. The route was well signed and, apart from a 20 minute wrong way on my behalf not noticing a bit of tape leading me over a bank, it was easy to follow! The last few miles was completed in the dark and they even put out lights to mark the route through the forest and glow sticks to follow to help out. The event organiser was hands on too, welcoming in the finishers to the finish line and checking if everything was okay. A family member I was running with had to finish at half way, along with the other Half distance runners and they were happy to offer him a medal to recognise his achievement (I understand that this wouldn’t necessarily be able to happen all the time due to the quantities of medals ordered). I would highly recommend and plan to be back next year with a few friends to tackle the challenge once more. Thank you!
