Very well organised event and a fantastic experience as it was my first duathlon. Will be back again next year. Cheers

Great course: challenging and varied, yet great for going for speed. Getting to the site to park for the scheduled start was challenging, resulting in quite a delay in getting sorted and a delayed start. None of the event staff gave an update as to the revised start time, though I saw after the event that the "Let's Do This" app had an update. It would have helped to reduce the stress levels, short cuts to the preparation rituals, and abandoning the chance to use the loo beforehand, for the event staff to be making announcements. Nonetheless, thanks to the event organisors for delaying the start to allow most people to start together. Once we were underway, I really enjoyed the venue, and both the run and cycle courses.

This is the 2nd tough runner event I have done this year and neither have started in time plus 6 Porto loos for 600 plus runners is woefully short and caused many of us to miss the startWhilst it was very well organised the problems getting into venue and then being charged £5 to park in a field were disappointing as was the value for money and very poor prize list which did not in any age group awards The medal was excellent quality but it was a shame there was no date on it Whilst I enjoy theses events and will probably do more I did not find it value for money or free of issues which should not occur at a venue previously used

Fantastic course, stunning venue and good event. Run course is fun but not one for a pb, bike course is flat fast and scenic.

This is the second time I've done this Duathlon in the last 6 months. It was such a beautiful morning and the setting is absolutely stunning. Through no fault of Tough Runner the cycle had to be cut short by 3k which was unfortunate as I was looking to try to get a PB based on my first Duathlon. The volunteers are always really friendly and helpful which is amazing. I was slightly disappointed this time as we had to wait around 25 minutes in a queue trying to get into the car park whereas last time we were able to drive straight in. There were only 6 portable toilets which again isn't great and we had to queue again for about 20 minutes to get into one. There also weren't enough 'Edinburgh Duathlon' tshirts left by the time I got to the shop which again was really disappointing. But all in all a great event and will definitely be entering in the future!

Terrible experience. Poor organising meant cues were down the road so cars were still trying to get in the car park at 8am when the race was meant to start. We were told not to rush as the start was delayed but whilst waiting in the cue for the 6 toilets of which 2 were blocked, at 8:20 someone came up and told us “oh by the way the race has started, don’t worry though they use the chip timers so start when you’re ready” there was no communication and with the toilets being positioned at the car park a 10 minute walk from the start line out of earshot of the PA system there was no way of knowing. This is such an easy solution which would avoided this and left it down to the athletes, have the toilets closer to the start or have someone with a walkie talking radio across to the toilets to someone there announcing a 10, then 5 then 2 minute countdown to start. This meant your chances of being in the front pack were impossible.Course itself was beautiful but only 4.5km not 5km so no way to Pb and same with the bike, also short.

I thought the course itself was excellent, but the event could have been much better organised. There was a constant 20 minute wait to park, largely because they were charging an extra £5 for parking for what was already an expensive event. There were only 6 portaloos for 650 entrants & unsurprisingly, most of these became blocked. Due to the big queues for parking & the toilets, the start was delayed by 30 mins.

I entered via “Let’s Do This” and when I arrived at the Tough Runner registration they did not have an entry for me. I have requested my entry fee be refunded to me. Very disappointing. I do not know whether the failure lies with Let’s Do This or with Tough Runner.
