Great course in amazing surroundings with fantastic organisation. Very competitive race and due to a good finish time I managed to qualify to race for GBR in the World Cross Duathlon Championships next year!

The event team were really friendly and the atmosphere was good. However, the event seemed a bit disorganised for a few reasons The run course was great but the bike course was not as advertised. The promise of lots of Afan's famed singletrack descents was the main draw to the event for me, being an avid mountain biker, but on the day there was only one singletrack descent. The organisers said it was due to forestry works which I guess they couldn't do anything about but I wouldn't have chosen this event if I'd known. There were no "stunning finisher medals" at the end of the race. There were no free photographs as mentioned on the event page.

Considering it was held in a mountain bike trail Mecca . i expected the route to consist of mostly easy fun single track . but it was 98% gravel road. A lot of money for what it was. It felt like it was an event just put on for competitive racers to place in.

I entered the extreme duathlon and I definitely expected it to be more technical on both the bike and the run. Also on the bike there was a couple of points that were poorly marked and without a marshal. Also the pre event info didn't contain the correct maps for the run or the bike. although this was explained in the pre race briefing it was still confusing

This was my first mountain bike race and I loved it! Everyone was really friendly, it's a great relaxed atmosphere and the finish line goodies are nice too

Did enjoy it, was expecting more entries maybe down to the time of year and weather? My only complaint is that I didn’t receive a medal, apparently they were going to be posted but I haven’t received one as yet! Slightly disappointing as this was my first event.

Did enjoy it, course was good, not many entries on the sundays extreme. All in all a good event that should have been better supported, can only assume the time of year put people off? My only complaint is that I didn’t receive a medal, apparently they were going to be posted but still haven’t received one. Slightly disappointed by this after travelling so far and with it being my first event.

The pre-race Brief did not match the actual course. The distance advertised on the website was significantly different to the actual distances - advertised as 5-22-5km but actually 4.4-18-4.4km. There were several places where marshals were missing and arrows were ambiguous leading to competitors going the wrong way on several occasions. When I finished (4th), there was nobody to notice me cross the line as the announcer was talking to someone else and I had to interrupt to find out what place I came. There were no finisher medals as promised. Thoroughly disappointing organisation and atmosphere.

Poor pre race program and info.Lack of marshals on the race course led to many runners and riders taking wrong turns. No medals at finish although advertised. No event photography. Very expensive for poor quality race. The event crew who were there on the day were fantastic themselves though, absolutely no complaints towards them.
