Route description

Etape Loch Ness

The Etape Loch Ness is a closed-road 106km route, offering 900 m of ascent, that starts along the riverside at Bught Park.

The route leaves Inverness and follows the A82 West through Drumnadrochit and Invermoriston before crossing the iconic Caledonian Canal to Fort Augustus.

The route then starts its return journey to Inverness via South Loch Ness on the B862/B852.

King of the Mountain

The King of the Mountain is a 9km climb of 380m with gradients reaching 12%. During the Etape Loch Ness at approximately the half-way point participants can opt to push for the King of the Mountain Title by going up this climb as fast as they can.

This will be recorded with a split time which will be included in your overall time, and the start and finish of the hill climb will be clearly marked.

This is entirely optional.
