Exeter's Great West Run Half Marathon takes an exciting 13.1 mile route through the heart of Exeter. This route has it all; a journey through the city centre, followed by pretty country lanes, stunning views, and a fantastic stadium finish.
There will be at least 5 drinks stations on route.
The 10k route follows the first and final 3 miles of the Half marathon route.
The Community Mile is designed to encourage first-time runners, families, and friends to come together and challenge themselves to get active for a fitter, healthier life.
COVID-19 Information:
Although it cannot be predicted where we will be as a nation by May, the event organisers have put well thought-out, flexible and responsive measures in place to ensure the Exeter's Great West Run is a COVID-secure event, as other events have already shown is possible.
Schedule:
07:00 First shuttle bus to the Event Village
07:30 Event Village opens
07:45 Last shuttle to the Event Village
08:30 10k Start
09:00 Half Marathon Start
12:30* Course Closures
*Participants falling behind the pace required to finish by 12:30 will be asked to move to the pavement.
Participants will be set off in start waves which are determined by your estimated finish time. Faster runners will start at the front to avoid the need to overtake on the course.
Race Packs
Race Packs will be posted out before the event and all event communications will be sent via email leading up to race day.
The Exeter Great West Run's spectator policies will be available closer to the event date. However please expect a limited number of spectators will be allowed.

Car: There is no official race parking. If you are coming by car you are encouraged to car pool, arrive early and use the 'Pay and Display' parking in the city centre. There will be shuttle tickets available on the Great West Run's website, so please purchase one of these if you plan on getting a shuttle to the race venue.
Shuttle Bus:
Shuttle Bus tickets are available to purchase at registration, please select the ticket including the shuttle bus return.
Buses will depart from Exeter city centre (original) bus station from Stand 7 between 07:00 and 07:45. Runners are encouraged to arrive early as this is a popular option and will be busy. The last bus will depart at 07:45 and will arrive at the arena at 08:00.
There will be a return service pick up from Whipton Village shops on Pinhoe Rd. from 11:15.
