Route description
Route description

This triathlon consists of a 400m swim, 20k bike, and 5k run.

Participants will race around flat closed roads and swim in clean, calm waters. All while being in the epic Olympic surroundings of Dorney Lake - one of Team GB's most successful venues.

The nature of this race makes it ideal for both professionals and first-timers alike.

Please note this is a non-drafting event, meaning it is against the rules to take shelter behind another competitor during the bike phase to gain a competitive advantage.

Logistics and schedule

07:30 - 09:30 Registration opens

09:15 Road closes

09:40 All bikes must be racked

10:00 Race begins

Start Times

The race will start at 10am sharp and will go off in 5 minute wave intervals.You will receive details of your wave group and time in an email prior to the event.

Anyone arriving after 09:15 will have to park in the middle car park and walk to the start. Please ensure you arrive within plenty of time to complete the registration process.

Wetsuits

Under current British Triathlon Federation rules, the following temperatures are enforced for events to ensure the best safety for swimmers:

Swim Length: Up to 1,500m
Wetsuit Forbidden Above: 22°C
Wetsuit Mandatory Below: 14°C

Tri suits, swimming trunks etc. are fine. If wetsuits are banned then competitors are ok to swim without tops on, so bare torsos are permitted, but only for the swim leg. Sports bras are fine, but again, athletes must cover up for the rest of the race.

Please note an updated water temperature reading will be provided in the lead-up to the event.

Please make sure you come prepared and have all your essential kit with you, including wetsuits which are recommended for the swim and helmets which again MUST be worn on the bike.

Volunteers

Volunteers are integral to making Fix Events the great spectacle which they are.

Your role will be to marshal on the course or help within the event hub giving participants plenty of support and encouragement

Parking

Parking is available in the main carpark to the left of the clubhouse and this is free. (Ignore the parking meters as there is no charge on event day.)

The road will be closed at 9.15am. Anyone arriving after this time will have to park in the middle car park and walk down.

By Train

If you are travelling by train the main stations for Dorney Lake are Slough (Paddington line) and Windsor & Eton Riverside (from Waterloo) but it's also near Burnham, Taplow, Maidenhead and Windsor & Eton Central (branch of Paddington line).

From these stations you can get a taxi or if with a bike you can ride to the venue.
