Route information

The course starts and finishes from the Folkestone seafront. From here, runners will head towards Hythe along the promenade before turning back at the 5k mark. The route affords runners plenty of chances to enjoy the beauty of the coastline.
This flat, out-and-back route is also traffic-free, making it a perfect race for those who are relatively new to running, as well as those looking to smash their PB.
The Folkestone Coastal 10k supports local and international charitable causes, and participants are encouraged to run for a charity of their choice.

Get full directionsBy Car
From the M20 heading South or A20 from Dover, turn off at junction 13 and follow the signs for Folkestone Harbour, it’s as easy as that! The site postcode is CT20 1PX and can easily be found on a satnav.
Parking
There will be parking near to the bottom of Leas Cliff Lift. There will be plenty of signs to direct you to this area and do park within the harbour or Leas Cliff Hall walk up to the start.
By Eurotunnel
Eurotunnel (shuttle service for cars with passengers, Calais-Folkestone, 35 minutes). Eurostar international train services from many cities (via Ashford International).
By Air
By air, Lydd Air (Le Touquet-London Airport Lydd). By ferry (via services to Dover from Calais, Dunkerque; to Ramsgate from Ostend).
By Train
For those wishing to travel by train, the nearest station is Folkestone Central Station. You can take a taxi or walk/jog to the Harbour, which will take about 20 minutes.

Age Requirements
All entrants must be 15 and older to enter the 10k.
Race Packs
Entrants who have entered in good time will have their race packs sent in the post 10 days before event day.
Those who have entered in the 10 days before race day will collect their race pack at registration on the day of the event.
If your race pack hasn’t arrived, head to the registration desk at race HQ and you can be issued with a new one.
A full set of race instructions will be sent via email before the event.
Elite Wave
There will be an elite wave start for those who have a qualification time of:
- 36 minutes for men
- 40 minutes for women

How do I attach my timing chip for the Folkestone Coastal 10k?
Your timing chip is incorporated into your race number and should not be removed. Please place the race number on the front of your vest/shirt and not on your leg or back.

How old do I have to be to enter the Folkestone Coastal 10k?
