Route information
The Northamptonshire village of Gayton sits on top of a hill, overlooking Northampton. The 5k run is a fairly flat route, taking runners through the village of Gayton on quiet, mostly single track roads. The 10k event takes runners from Gayton down single track roads over the Grand Union Canal and railway bridge, with breathtaking views of Northampton. The sting in this run is the Gayton Hill to climb back into the village to join the 5k route back to the finish line.

I did the 5k last year and the 10k this year, both routes weren't boring, no laps, nice and scenic and I was able to run with the dog :)

It was my first ever run and it was brilliant, course was well mapped out and the organisers/volunteers were great! Definitely made me want to do more in the future :) Thank you to all involved!

Very hilly course. Very good to run if you are trying to train for something bigger. Not a PB course however, due to the hills. I, personally, enjoyed the atmosphere as I had a few people from my running club who were supporting. Yet due to the country road route, the atmosphere wasn't great. Very little support outside of the few villages we ran through.Overall it was an enjoyable run.

Well organised and on time. Shame it was a tad cold but otherwise a good challenging run with a few hills.

This was my first ever official 10k event and as I am training for the London Marathon was a perfect start - apart from being so cold and windy and the course being rather hilly in places :o) I absolutely loved it - the other runners were all very friendly and supportive and I would hugely recommend this to anyone - the views from the top of the hills are well worth climbing them!!!

Ive done this race four times now and its possibly my favourite 10k. The venue has a great atmosphere, just remember to wrap up as it is very open and always colder than you expect! The course is well marked, well marshalled and beautiful. There are a few hills to test the lungs, and a nice banana and medal at the finish! Get there early if you will need the loo first as there is always a big queue.

Nice countryside run, mixture of up and down road hills, watch out for the photographer of the last hill.I was abit disappointed that the portable coffee van wasn't there for when I finished my race, well they lost there custom to maccys lol

Its a lumpy one for sure....but in the country and fitting as a winter race I think. I.e. no one is fit enough to run a pb anyway!

I have run from this venue before so was aware of the parking to race HQ distance. Despite this some additional signage as you come into the village to point runners towards the parking could be beneficial.
