Route information
Both The Golden Mile and the Junior Golden Mile event begin close to the Inshore Lifeboat Station.
The route covers a measured 1 mile route finishing a mile away from the start, close to The Bayside Cabin Café. The course is pancake flat and offers runners an excellent opportunity to record a PB.
Why not challenge yourself further by taking part in the The Gosport 5k which follows The Golden Mile.
The 5k will begin near the Bayside Cabin Café. From there runners will cover an out and back route along the promenade and onto a country path around Fort Gilkicker.
The majority of the route is on concrete paths apart from a few metres on a shingle pathway.
Runners can enter the Golden Mile and 5k race, please select that ticket option when entering.

There is plenty of car parking available along the seafront, but please pay attention to any parking restrictions and remember to pay the appropriate rate where applicable.

The closest railway station is Portsmouth Harbour and the promenade is served by local buses.

Runners will be set off at 3-minute intervals within these start time openings. Groups of runners will be kept to a maximum of 12 per slot.

Entrants must be the following ages to enter each event:
- Golden Mile - Seniors - 16 and older on race day
- Golden Mile - Juniors - Between 4-15 on race day
- 5k - 11 and older on race day
FAQs
Will my race number be sent to me or do I need to pick it up on race day of the Gosport Golden Mile & 5k?
If you have entered the race in good time then it will be sent to you in the post. If you entered close to race day then you will need to collect your race number on the day of the event. Entries are not available on the day.
Where can I find my results from the Gosport Golden Mile & 5k?
Results will be posted as soon as possible after the event on the Nice Work results page.
How do I attach my timing chip for the Gosport Golden Mile & 5k?
Your timing chip is incorporated into your race number and should not be removed. Please place the race number on the front of your vest/shirt and not on your leg or back.
I want to enter both the Golden Mile and the 5k, can I?
Yes, absolutely! Just select the combined ticket when entering the event.
