Route information
Manchester’s favourite Half Marathon and 10k will take runners of all abilities on a wonderful tour of the city.
The Half Marathon passes by two of the UK’s most iconic football grounds, the Etihad Stadium and Old Trafford, as well as the Imperial War Museum and Albert Square. The 10k takes in all those amazing sights as well, apart from the Etihad Stadium.
Some iconic streets in the middle of Manchester will be closed off to vehicles for one day only, allowing participants a safe, unique running experience through the city. And with the action all televised on the BBC each year, this is an event like no other.
On-Course Entertainment
The course will provide you with plenty of atmosphere to keep you going. With bands on the run, charity cheer points, musical entertainment and thousands of spectators shouting your name – you’ll stay motivated all the way to the finish line!
With live music, local legends (including Clint Boon!), Beats Boost and Hacienda zone, and the Hits Radio Motivation zone, there's plenty to enjoy along the way.
With 24 entertainment zones for the Half Marathon, and 21 on the 10k course, you'll be rocking from start to finish.
Please note: the course may be subject to change.

Tedious course out to the Man City stadium then to the Man U stadium and backVery little support along the way out to both stadiums And ont the way back from the Man U one, plenty of support but for the 10k elites It was however exciting to see Mo Farrah on the other side of the road running in the opposite direction Disappointing that the small shirts had run out by the time I finished too

Loved it, my favourite event I have ever done. The only issue was the narrow part of the course near the Etihad with runners in both directions.

This is a great city-centre half marathon route. As well as taking in the two big football grounds of Manchester City and United, the route also proceeds along the elevated inner motorway which gives great views over the city. The finish is on the well known Deansgate - a canyon-like street in the centre.
