Great Notley Spring Duathlon route

This event is sponsored by Cycles UK, one of the leading independent bike retailers in the UK. A link to their website can be found here: https://www.cyclesuk.com/

Run 4KM:

The race starts and finishes with a 4KM run within the boundaries of the country park. This will be a mixed-terrain route, over a mixture of grass and walkways.

While the run's short distance makes this a great event for novices and young competitors, there is a challenging hill within the route.

Cycle 20KM:

The transition to the cycle will take place on a grassy area, next to the access road. This course is all on roads, and is 10KM loop, with participants completing it twice.

The quick cycle is relatively flat and will take riders through Rayne, Willows Green and Great Leighs, before returning to the centre for the final run.

Final Run 4KM:

The final section of the race will follow exactly the same course as the first run.

There will be a water station at the start of this run and water available at the finish line.

The manageable distances and traffic free run course makes it an ideal race for novices.

The transition area will be situated in the park adjacent to the Discovery Centre, changing facilities will be available at the centre itself with competitors toilets adjacent to transition.

The race will have two mass starts, which will begin 5 minutes apart from each other.
