Gung-Ho! is an inclusive 5km running event, with a focus on fun and it's coming to Birmingham in 2019 on 27th April. Get ready to run, jump and climb over some of the the biggest inflatable obstacles in the world and show how Gung-Ho! you really are!

Route information

Each course is designed to best suit the event location. There are no paint, water or mud obstacles at a Gung-Ho! event, but some mud should be anticipated in bad weather. We can not guarantee that every obstacle will appear at every event. The obstacles and their positioning are dependent on the specific venue. Rest assured we will do our best to set up every route to provide the most Gung-Ho! fun.

Parking is available on site by paying and managed by Gung-Ho!
From The North
From North-west, follow M6 South, M5 South to junction 4, then A38 East and follow event signage.
From North-east, use M1 South, A42/M42, to junction 2, A441 North, and then follow event signage.
From The East
Vehicles from the East should aim to join the M42 Westbound, follow this to junction 2, then head North on the A441, and follow event signage from there.
From The South
From the South-west, use M5 to junction 4, then follow route as above.
From South-east, use either M1 or M40 to their junction with the M42, then follow as for public East. Due to the Birmingham city centre tunnel closures, traffic heading towards the festival would be advised to follow the A38 SOUTH or A441 SOUTH.
From The West
Depending on point of departure, vehicles from the West and Wales should head for M5 Junction 4 and then follow event signage.
By Bus
All routes from Birmingham – Route 47 terminates at Groveley Lane, Route 45 terminates at Longbridge, Route 98 stops on Lickey Road, Routes 49 and 49A stop at Longbridge. Route 63 stops at Longbridge A38.
By Train
Cross City Line from Lichfield in the North and through Birmingham New Street to Longbridge Station, 0.9 miles from Cofton Park.

Event day logistics

Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your wave time. This will allow you to park, collect any remaining tickets and drop any bags in the bag-drop facility before heading to the warm-up area.
Wave Times:
Gung-Ho! starters are released in waves of up to 250 runners. The first wave will be released at 09:30, with subsequent waves starting at 15-minute intervals. Should you want a time not shown, please email steph@letsdothis.com and we will see what we can do! For safety reasons, it is not possible to book late entries on to full wave times.
Bag Drop:
Valuables can be left at a manned bag drop facility for a £3 charge per item. (All transactions are cash only on event days)

FAQs

Can I walk the course or skip an obstacle?
You can walk, skip or roll the course if you wish, as long as you enjoy yourself then that’s fine by us! If the obstacle looks too much for you then you are free to pass it by.

Can I run with my friends and family?
Yes! Gung-Ho! is all about inclusion so no matter your fitness level, you can run together. Choose the same wave time when booking to make sure you run together.Is there an age/

height requirement?
There is no minimum age requirement but participants must be at least 122 centimeters in height to tackle these monstrous obstacles. Children under 11 must be accompanied through the course by a participating adult.

When will I get my t-shirt and headband?
You’ll receive your Gung-Ho! Winners Pack after you cross the finish line!
