Route information
Keep up your new years resolutions by racing this beautiful undulating to hilly course. Run on well-maintained loose gravel paths that pass through the middle of scenic Hamsterley Forest Drive, runners will be invigorated by the crisp winter air and, and even have the opportunity for some wildlife watching.
10k runners will complete 1 lap of the course, while Half Marathon runners will do 2 laps with a short additional section at the start.
Please run on the left hand side of the road in order to allow faster runners to pass on your right.
Your results will be recorded by a timing mat ever lap, showing your split times.
The course has a TRA Race Permit, with a Course Accuracy Certificate
Refreshment Stations:
Every 3.1 miles, there will be a food and drink station. These will be stocked with water and electrolyte drinks in paper cups, various sweet, chocolates and cakes. At registration, you will have the option to leave personal nutrition at the food stop.
Toilets:
Portable toilets will be available at registration and on the course

Car Parking:
The Forest is roughly 10 miles west of Bishop Auckland. The nearby roads, particularly the A68, will direct you to the car park with signage. Car Parking will be charged.

Registration
Registration takes place at the Start/Finish Area, which is near Grove Car Park, in the Southern area of Hamsterley Forest (DL13 3QN)
Registration will be from 08:00 to 10:15. On the day entry is available at £2 extra fee.
Schedule:
- 10:00am: Half Marathon
- 10:30am: 10k
NB There will be a cut-off 4 hours after the race has begun (2pm)
Please be aware phone signal is very poor in and around Hamsterley Forest.
Spectator Info
The area has plenty of opportunities for spectating, although you may get distracted by the stunning views and potential for wildlife watching. You might want to go for a peaceful wander while the race is happening.

Race packs will need to be collected on the day, from the registration tent situated at the start/finish area near Grove Car Park, DL13 3QN. Runner info will be emailed 7 days prior to the race, and will also be available on the website.
Am I allowed to wear Headphones?
No, for safety reasons you are asked not to wear headphones during the race.
Is there any event merchandise?
Yes, at registration you will have the option of buying a finisher's t-shirt (£10) or hoodie (£20)
Will there be baggage storage?
There will be a baggage storage at the registration tent, however, belongings are left at your own risk. Please put your own labels with your name and race number on your baggage.
