The race begins on the beach outside Broadstairs Pavilion at 9:30am and follows the beach southwards through Louisa Bay, Dumpton Gap, onto Ramsgate Sands and competitors touch the wall of the Ramsgate East Pier before returning along the same route to finish back at the beach outside Broadstairs Pavilion.
On the morning of the race runners will begin arriving from 8am for registration. The last runner should complete the course by 11am
