There was an issue with getting the race numbers out in the post, which meant that they were handed out on the day. The staff were well organised doing this, but cannot account for the queues of participants who turn up later and therefore the race start had to be delayed. The other problem was that no-one could hear anything that was said at the start of the race, the microphone/speaker system was not up to the job!At the end of the race, the medals/water hand out station could have done with being a part of the finish funnel. It wasn't obvious where to go with all the supporters hanging around there. There were plenty of clean toilets. The route was a lovely undulating course through the woodland with beautiful glimpses of far reaching views through the trees. Ideal course for a beginner trail runner or a more experienced runner wanting a trail PB. It was a shame that there were no official photographs.I hope that the runner who was taken ill at 9km got the help he needed from the first aid team?

This was my first ever 10k so I had no preconceptions of what to expect leading up to the day. The route was very scenic, weaving through the woods and up the hills made this a pretty tough course for a beginner but it was still very enjoyable. My strava logged it as 10.9k which is a bit longer than expected. I was a little confused towards the finish as I couldn't spot any marshalls directing people over the line or to the medals. Could've done with some more stalls and food van for spectators. I really enjoyed the course and would definately do it again next year!

So easy to access, great number pick up, but atmosphere no, non existent,my first 10k and was very disappointed, no idea what the lady said at the beginning, treats?goody bag? Water and a medal, not even anywhere to get a coffee or bite to eat. Nice enough course

No markers after the 2nd k The course was good,No clock at the starting point To time check,The actual facilities were basic if your family was there to support there wasn't any refreshment facilities for tea coffee food etc....But you could buy a wooly hat lol.You had runners and families and organisers all trying to use just 14 portaloo’s! The announcer was trying to use a hand portable P.A to communicate to the runners so unless you were stood next to her you had no idea what was going onIt was all very shambolic and no atmosphere and no goodie bag just the medal .But the course was good, You could of made more money by having better facilities, I would only take part again if I know there was better facilities

Terribly run day. Numbers given out on day. Times not received. Race started late with no clear communication or instructions.Real shame as the course is 5* - just needs to go be run by a different outfit

I was a little bit disappointed with what you said was offered and what was delivered. The course was lovely and that was great. However, I found that the course was not marshalled enough at some of the key decision points and you were left with very small arrows to guide you. The route was also well over 10km with the watch measurement of everyone I spoke to at about 10.5km. I was made aware of a few people collapsing and there not being Marshall's around to raise it to, which is not great from a health and safety standpoint. In terms of what was offered, it was advertised as a goody bag, but all we received was a bottle of water and a medal (which is fine, but not quite what was promised). Finally, I came third in the 10k, and expected a prize ceremony as advertised, but this didn't happen and no explanation as to why, which is obviously a little disappointing. I did almost get taken out by a load of charging deer, but understand this isn't your fault. But just worth flagging. Overall, good route but poorly organised.

Good route with stunning scenery but poorly organised this year, was promised a goody bag but got a bottle of water, promised local food and drink but non available, promised event village but only one guy selling hats, and was supposed be podium awards but no such celebration. There were issues with sending race packs and route of well over the 10K mark so although good views from course overall poor execution from the team.

This was to be my first 10k event, so I was being led by the info on the emails. "You will get your race pack before the event". The day before the event, another email said that due to issues, everyone would be collecting their packs at the event. The info said there would be a medal and finishers goodies. I was given a medal and a bottle of water. The info said there would be food and drink at the event. There was a bottle of water for the runners but nothing else. Oh, for some reason the route was actually 11k! Not sure what was going on, but I feel like I've been taken advantage of. Would I book again? Not too sure...!

Muddy and slippery at moments and challenging with 6-7k hill climb. We were send at 1k through a cattle grid which was very dangerous and could end up with some serious injuries!!! Other than this well organised and great atmosphere!
