Fast, flat, fantastic! Choice of half marathon, 10k, 5k. Set in the beautiful Cherwell Valley countryside, the three routes all utilise the Heyford Park Airbase's Runway, RAF Taxiway & NATO Taxiway and are therefore pancake flat and traffic-free. These races are timed perfectly if you are planning to run a Spring marathon, but equally good for those venturing into racing, moving up a distance or just trying to improve times.

You will pick up signs to the race once you have reached the village of Upper Heyford. Please be aware that we will not be using the main entrance to Heyford Park, so follow signs until you reach the Race Car Park entrance.

You will need to display a car pass in order to gain access to the Airbase which will be emailed to you prior to race day. Please ensure that any spectators arriving in separate cars also print a copy. Follow the Race Car Park signs and park only where directed. Do not drive anywhere else on the base and please remember that this is a restricted access location and certain areas available only to us... and only for the race!

For safety reasons, it is suggested that you run without music so you can stay alert and aware of your surroundings and other runners. This way you can also soak up the energy and atmosphere and unplug!

For racing we recommend you wear your normal running kit and trainers and don't forget to keep an eye on the weather in case you require any waterproofs.

Route was all set up so you won't go wrong with distances, plenty of Marshall's and two pit stops for refuelling with water and jelly babies

Great venue but was totally disappointed that the Junior race had started earlier than advertised with our two children being really upset as they missed their first ever run and had raised money for Charity. I was also gutted that the course was 500m short for the 10k, especially as I was running a personal best. I feel like an amazing venue was ruined by poor organisation: shame.

Decent flat course. Tough going without any crowd atmosphere but you know to expect that beforehand. Little disappointing that the race didn't measure a full 13.1 mile half marathon distance as you don't sign up for a 12.87 mile race. Overall a good event that I would do again.

Well organised but 10k course was around 250m short. It went wrong somewhere between 8 and 9km. Also had to wait at the 5km mark for the poor lad to pour us individual cups of water. He had none ready. I had been hoping for a PB and 30 seconds makes all the difference.

My daughter took part in the Wheelchair 5k race. she was one of several wheelchair competitors. We were astounded to find that there were no accessible toilets. Could this be addressed for future race meetings?

My first ever half marathon and I throughly enjoyed. Perfect for first timers. Will be back next year 👏🏻

No atmosphere at all. Very boring and dull course. No one monitoring bag drop, bags left on wet ground underneath poor gazebo. Bag soaked by end of race.
No differentiation in medals for the 3 different distances.
7 toilets for the whole event, queues too long. One coffee can at the end. Really poor event for the price.

Had a great morning running, but frustrated that the courses all came up short - the 10k course was about 9.7k, and I know there were similar issues on the half marathon course.

The junior race (which my daughter ran) also started 15 mins earlier than the published time - it started at 9.30, but the website said 9.45 (and the confirmation email received last week said 10.00).

A good day on a good course, but slightly tainted by organisational issues.

For was quite hard and a bit pot holed. Atmosphere was good. Disabled parking not very clearly marked.

Can I do the kids event with my boy before running the main races? Do I need to pay to enter the family race too?

Hi there, I'm afraid not. The Junior race is only for children. Sorry about that!
