Here are the distances available for Hourglass
All entrants will start with 30 minutes and in this time you will complete 1 lap. Each consecutive lap will deduct your time by 1 minute, you will all have 29 minutes left for the next lap and so on. If you do not manage to finish a lap within the allocated time you will be eliminated from the race.
This race is about pacing and strategy, each lap will have you running faster and faster. If you can get down to 9 minute mile pace, you will have completed 13 laps which is equivalent to a marathon. The course will be a mixture of tarmac and grass, containing twists and turns to negotiate.

The Royal Cornwall Showground is located just outside of Wadebridge along the A39, just past the BP station and Tesco Superstore.
The closest train station to the Royal Cornwall Showground is Bodmin Parkway, from there you can take a bus directly to the Royal Cornwall Showground.

What is the terrain like at the Hourglass race?
The terrain will be a mixture of tarmac and grass paths with twists and turns to negotiate.
How does the Hourglass race work?
Each 2 mile lap you will be given an allotted time to finish the lap in. The first lap you will have 30 minutes, the second 29 minutes and so on. You can choose how fast you run each lap but make sure that you are ready to get faster each lap to see if you can outrun the clock.
What do I get with my entry to the Hourglass race?
All entries will receive a finisher's medal. The last remaining male and female runners, including 2nd and 3rd place will also receive a prize for their efforts.
