Route information
Both the 22 and the 62 mile rides share the same route for the first 12 miles. The 22 mile route is designed to offer a challenge to those who have just taken up cycling, or who want to cycle as a family – hence the reason for keeping the entry fee down to £8. Having negotiated Barton, the route climbs gently for approximately 3.5 miles, allowing time to take in the breathtaking views across to the Humber Bridge. Once on the ridge of Middlegate Lane, the Ancholme valley stretches out to the right, and on a clear day it is possible to see Lincoln Cathedral on the distant horizon. After the split, the route tracks back to Barton through rural farmland on virtually traffic free roads, – watch out for the final leg tester climbing out of Deepdale! There is a feed station on this route located around the half-way point too!
What's included
As usual we will be holding a raffle on the day, with plenty of amazing prizes to be won – including a voucher for a bike from Minster Cycles!
You’ll be able to refuel after the ride with a delicious hog roast, courtesy of Cranswick Foods, as well as ice cream, pizza and beer.
There’ll be inflatable slides, Giant Jenga, hula hoops, Connect 4, a football goal and a bouncy castle to keep the little ones entertained throughout the day whilst parents enjoy a cool post-ride beer.
