Loved this..few teething problems as toilets were late but did not take away from the experience, great friendly organisers!

This was their first event so I've given them so slack for that. The course is incredibly challenging, I found some of the downhills pretty hard as well as the crazy uphills. Personally it was too challenging for me but I appreciate I'm probably not their target market. The route was 0.8 mile short which over a 10km is a fair bit. There weren't enough signs and either not enough marshals or badly placed. In a couple of parts they were shouting instructions to you as you ran past, I saw at least two people take a wrong turn. Their PA didn't seem to work and the portaloos didn't show up until after the race began. That being said the people were friendly and the atmosphere was lively. With around 50 runners people were actually talking and having a laugh before we started. Once we'd been given our free mug, coffee and mars bars the hills were forgotten (nearly)They're doing another event in May and we will be giving them another go, I hope they fix the glitches they had this time!

The organiser was really friendly. Unfortunately there was no toilets but that's because they didn't arrive on time. I think the course would have been better marked as I got lost 2 but over all it was tough but fun

Great course with some brutal hills. Finding the event was really difficult, no signposts at all. No on site parking. NO TOILETS which as every runner knows is crucial.

I'll will be lenient as this was Dark Horse Sport's first organised event. To start with the good points. The course was challenging with just enough downhills to make up for the 3 major challenging uphills. The location was great. It's not often running events are held here as it is army ground. We also got goodies at the end which were an energy gel, a chocolate bar, branded mug and wooden medal. For runners you could also get a complimentary coffee from a local coffee van (Caleb's Coffee) which was situated near the start. Parking was available across the road, near the Wellington Statue, about a kilometre from the start. And now the cons. Although the course was easy to learn since it was two loops and if you could complete one loop you knew where to go the second time round, my biggest gripe would be that the course was definitely not 10k. Myself and a few other runners recording this activity on GPS watches noted that the finish was about a 1k short of 10k. Given that I ran a flat 10k recently in 46 mins there's no way I ran this challenging 10k in 43 mins. When you got to each marshal the directions were described to you in enough detail so that you knew where to go and also by following the red and white tape or wooden signs (nice touch), though there were a few areas that if you didn't catch a glimpse of the person 100m in front of you; you might get lost. This is why I feel it is always important for events to have course maps available either online or on the day similar to a parkrun first timer's briefing. Toilets weren't available due to delays but this wasn't a problem for me personally. Despite this I do look forward to attending another of their events.
