On your way to Ironman glory, you'll swim in Pennington Flash, climb some tough hills on the bike and finish the run in Bolton town centre. Don't forget to make the most of the shopping, restaurants and pubs over the course of the weekend.

What are the cut off times?
Swim: 2 hours 20 minutes + a further 10 minutes from the swim cut off to start the bike. Bike: 10 hours 30 minutes (after you cross the swim start timing mat) + a further 10 minutes from the bike cut off to start the run. Run: 17 hours (after you cross the swim start timing mat). Intermediate cut offs on the bike and run may apply in the interests of athlete safety and to enable roads to reopen according to the schedule agreed with the authorities.… read moreIs there a minimum age requirement to enter?

Swim:
The two-loop 2.4 mile swim course takes place at Pennington Flash Country Park. The swim course has a triangle layout and athletes will head out before turning left twice and making their way back to the start.
Bike:
The three-loop 112 mile bike course runs in an anti-clockwise direction. Athletes will travel from Pennington Flash to Bolton for the first few miles, before taking on the three-loop bike course. The course continues through the northern countryside, past Black Dog Pub before reaching the famous Sheephouse Lane.
Run:
The four-loop 26.2 mile run course laps around Bolton town centre before ascending through the scenic Queen’s Park to Chorley New Road. Athletes will then pass numerous spectator hotspots before finishing at Victoria Square.
All athletes must register in person at the event prior to race day to collect their race packs. In order to register you will NEED:
- Your BIB number (which will be uploaded around 3 weeks prior to race day)
- Photo Identification (passport or driving licence)
You MUST attend registration yourself in order to race.
Under NO circumstance will we give your information to another person even with authorisation.
Volunteers are a focal point of all Ironman events. As such, they are always on the look-out for more helping hands.
