The 2018 ‘It’s Knott Winter’ sportive will support the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity’s Helipad appeal, with all profits going to the Charity. For more information about the charity and the Helipad appeal, visit http://www.rmchcharity.org.uk/helipad-appeal
The route will follow a loop anti-clockwise around the Lancashire/Yorkshire border, taking in the spectacular climb of Bowland Knotts (hence the Sportive name), looping back around the beautiful Ribble Valley back to Green Jersey for hot soup.
We would like to encourage riders to cycle year round and become winter warriors, not just summer softies! With appropriate clothing and lighting, cycling can be enjoyed whatever the season.
The ride will take in quiet roads around the Ribble Valley and head out as far as Giggleswick on the 100km route. It will be well signed and marshalled, and there will be hot drinks and food available back in Green Jersey in Clitheroe.
