Route information
The Flitch Way is the old railway system that ran between Braintree and Bishops Stortford. The single track railway opened in 1869 and closed exactly 100 years later, and is now home to a beautiful countryside trail.
The course covers an entirely flat 5.3K loop of hard packed off-road trail, giving runners a slightly cushioned impact compared to tarmac, which is important when running for 7 hours.
If running for 7 hours doesn't sound like your cup of tea then don't panic, this event is designed so you can push yourself at your own pace. So if you only want to complete a couple of laps and call it a day then you are welcome to. Everyone is a finisher here.
