The event was very well organised BUT I think the 40 miles was far from the focus of the weekend. Information pack needs to be separate for the two different events. Unfortunately for us the first 15km was particularly muddy and wet meaning that everyone had soaked feet within the first 2 hours. There is also about 11km of tarmac throughout the race which is very unpleasant. Feed stations were very good at the start, less good as they went on. I am not unhappy that I did it, but I wouldn’t do it again (mainly for the logistical reason and the course).

I think more should be made of the fact that it's a self navigation course - it's not quite as self explanatory as described and a few tips in race briefing would have helped (stressing that check point 1 wasn't where described along the GPS tracker, and guidance on various bits of the route where the trail splits).Bar that, really enjoyed the event. The race shirts seem really good quality!

It was the first time I have self navigated at that distance, yet I felt confident and comfortable about doing it. The inevitable questioning of a few turns came but everyone else running pulled together which adds to the experience. Loved it.

I think highlighting the fact the route is not obvious at stages and re-emphasising self navigating would be worth doing. Maybe sign-posting aid stations as well. Great event and back to basics

Course was amazing but too much tarmac, literally did a half marathon + just on tarmac 😂, also could do an extra water station in between the longer sections, overall still a good race and lovely medal!
