Route information
Terrain: Trails Elevation: Hilly
This event will take you on a trek of a lifetime. Entrants will be tested as they follow the South West Coast path (marked by Acorn signs) from the picturesque village of Abbotsbury to the world famous Lulworth Cove, with its incredible blue waters and unique geology. This is a well-worn path that will challenge all., with hill climbs and exciting descents.
It is emphasised that in this event participants must navigate for themselves. There will be checkpoints every 20k, fully stocked with food and drinks.

By Car
The Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy lies off of the A354 between Weymouth and Castletown. It is a 17-minute drive from Weymouth and a 29-minute drive from Dorchester.
Parking
There will be free parking available at the event HQ.
By Public Transport
The closest train station is Weymouth Station, which has regular services to London Waterloo, Bristol Temple Meads and Woking.
From Weymouth, take the 1 Portland Link bus towards the National Sailing Academy, which drops you right outside the Academy.
Transportation
On completing the event briefing, all entrants will be transferred to the start by minibus.

Age Requirements
Entrants must be over the age of 20 to participate.
Mandatory Kit
This kit must be carried on your person at all times:
  • A means of navigation, electronic or paper maps
  • Useful numbers
  • Checkpoint timings
  • Lost procedure
  • Whistle
  • Compass (make sure it is attached to your kit)
  • Waterproof top
  • Long trousers or tights
  • Gloves
  • Hat
  • Chocolate bar or similar
  • Small torch with batteries
  • Start with 1 litre of water or other, keep a minimum of 400ml
  • Issued food for the day
  • Issued wrist bib number
  • Lightweight piece of warm clothing (waterproofed)
  • Fully charged and working mobile phone (waterproofed)
  • Notepad and pencil with your name and mobile number written on it (waterproofed)
Checkpoint Cut-Off Times
There will be individual checkpoint cut-off times, which will be published closer to the event date. Entrants must run a minimum speed of 5km per hour to finish the race before the cut-off time. Entrants will have 13 hours to complete the 40-mile race.
