You will be pushed to your limits at this event Learn more.

5km (6km on the Saturday):

Starting just next to Marsh barn, in the old pitch and putt gravel area the trail run takes us through the beautiful golf club and onto freshwater. It's flat for the first 3 km which is where the First Aid station is located, after this the route follows the Jurassic coastal path through freshwater and you return to West Bay (Marsh Barn) along the Jurassic cliffs, with views along the coastline.

10km:

Again Starting just next to Marsh barn, in the old pitch and putt gravel area the trail run takes us through the beautiful golf club and onto freshwater. It's flat for the first 3 km which is where the Aid station is located, after this the route follows the Jurassic coastal path out to Hive beach, Burton Bradstock, before we head westwards and then follow the path back to the Aid station at 8 km, its cliff path, and sea views all the way back to West Bay (Marsh Barn) along the Jurassic cliffs.

Half Marathon 21.1km:

The Half marathon is a test in places and not to be taken lightly, starting just next to Marsh barn, in the old pitch and putt gravel area the trail run takes us through the beautiful golf club and onto freshwater. It's flat for the first 3 km which is where the First Aid station is located, after this we meet our first hill - it's short and sharp.

At the top we get our first glimpse of the sea before we head for Burton Bradstock's hive beach, once through the fields, we follow the coastline and head inland for a km, and the second feed at 10 km before heading back towards Hive beach, it's all downhill and is track and trail.

We link back up with the 10 km route here and head towards the third feed at 17 km, this is when the fun really begins, once on the cliff path, you will realise why we have chosen this location. It is simply breathtaking, and the views (If there is no mist) are to die for. It's the Jurassic coast at its most superb.

The first parts of the Half are relatively flat but it is the Jurassic coast so at some point it's an up and down challenge that is not for the faint hearted.

Marathon 42.2km:

The marathon event will be four laps of the 10km course and provide the most formidable challenge of the weekend.

  • Did the Saturday Half Marathon in 2019

A really great route in a great area but the organisation had room for improvement and a little haphazard and the medal was not great. I still do it again for the beautiful run!
  • Did the Saturday Half Marathon in 2019

It was at my limit but delighted I did it. It starts well and gives a false sense of this being challenging but not too bad - but then leads to 2 killer hills near the end of the 1st of the 2 laps. I can only say I am in awe of the fastest finishers and everyone who ran the full marathon on a course that makes the London Marathon (held in the same day) seem like a walk in the park! Problems with signage where farmers were removing arrows prior to the race - organisers need to get on top of this negativity! Also loo queues at the start were a massive pain. ORDER MORE LOOS - even if it costs us all an extra or two!
  • Did the Saturday Half Marathon in 2019

The atmosphere and finishers pack was great. I really enjoyed the route, it was challenging but not brutal. My pre run wee took 33minutes of queuing and I almost missed the start. So give yourself plenty of time at the start.
  • Did the Saturday Half Marathon in 2019

Well organised ~ beautiful coastal trail course ~ my first half and the coastal climbs were hard doing them twice! Great challenge ~ recommended.
  • Did the Saturday 10km in 2018

We went the wrong way and ran another 3 km!!
  • Did the Saturday 10km in 2018
