This established trail running festival is back for another year and getting bigger and better every time. The event starts and finishes in the grounds of the magnificent Kirkstall Abbey. Kirkstall Abbey is set on the banks of the river Aire and is one of the most complete examples of a medieval cistercian Abbey in Great Britain.

Great organisation and friendly atmosphere as usual from Grim Up North Running! I'm not convinced the course deserved the 5 boot 'grimmer than grim' rating as its a fairly straightforward race - largely flat & easy running on road & canal surfaces. the couple of more trail-y sections by the river and across fields also present no major challenges.Lovely setting at the Abbey start/finish. Lots of cake & a cool medal too!

Great race with mixed terrain. Lucky we had not had lots of rain this year so pretty dry.

A Great challenging race, canal part a bit boring but allows to gain some time back. Im always scared of tripping/falling so for me would only race this event in trail shoes. Plenty of water and jelly babies on the 8.8 route.

Great event. There is quite a lot of road in it for a trail race though
