Route information
Long Route
This 170k route is one of the toughest rides in the UK. Starting on Coniston Water, you will have one climb in the first 37k to get your legs warmed up for the challenge ahead. First up is Corney Fell, almost 4k at over 7%. You'll then hit the toughest 1-2 in the UK, Hardknott followed by Wrynose.
After getting back to Coniston, the long route heads to Ambleside and the aptly named The Struggle – 4.6k at over 8%. From here, ride over Cartmel Fell before arriving back at Coniston.
Medium Route
This punchy 100k takes on three classic climbs and a number of great local climbs, taking riders up and down for most of the route.
The start and finish is slightly easier than the long route but the middle half is packed with just as many tough climbs, including Corney Fell and the two hardest back to back climbs in the country: Hardknott & Wrynose.
