Route information
The Lakesman Half is the ultimate test of endurance set against the backdrop of Cumbria's breathtaking natural beauty. You can opt for the triathlon, swim/bike or bike/run - all with relay options too!
The Half Swim:
1.9km (1.2m) - Derwent Water
Derwent Water is generally regarded as the area's most scenic lake and swimming in its crystal clear waters is something that all triathletes should get the chance to experience. This single-lap course provides PB opportunities for the more experienced swimmers, and amazing views for those taking their time!
There will be the opportunity for athletes to choose from a number of mass starts as well as waved starts between 6:20-6:50am. The swim course involves a rectangular lap where athletes keep the buoys to their right at all times, making just 3 right turns.
Following the swim, athletes have a carpeted run to the transition area which is lined with spectators.
The Half Bike:
90km (56m)
This route takes in a number of local time-trial routes and offers exceptional scenery, good road surfaces and minimal elevation for a triathlon in the Lake District.
The Half Run:
21.1km (13.1m)
This 4 lap course offers more amazing views, as well as great spectator opportunities and follows a flat route around Keswick, with visits to the event hub at the rugby club on every lap.
