Did previous years at Lamberhurst ( Scotney Castle) which I was a big fan, have to say I enjoyed this course even more. Bewl looked stunning with the morning mist. As always well organised by Nice Work with reasonable entrance fees.

I was very pleased the event was on this year. Thank you to the organises for making it happen. I really like this New Year’s Day run and I’ve done the last 4 years in row. My best run was taking part last year 2019 on crutches!!!! It was the most hardest thing I’ve done. As I had Snapped 3 out of 4 ligaments in my left knee. And having the operation January 2020 to rejoin my leg. But was so determined to take part as it’s a great way to start your new year. It was such a shame that you do not get a Prize for competing on crutches!!!!!!!

Well-organised event in a nice location. Course was a bit narrow in places and I would definitely recommend trail shoes (road shoes were advised in the pre-race info). Less challenging than the previous route at Scotney Castle but this was no bad thing - it was a perfect but not too challenging way to start the new year.

A lovely well organised event really enjoyed the run albeit a bit muddy in places. Only criticism the course measured slightly short of 10km (according to my Tom Tom & several other runners from our club) so didn’t register on Strava as my first 10k if the year!!

Bewl has plenty of great potential, as it host plenty of other races throughout the year.
It was a shame that the course didn't measure 10k- was there a reason for this?
If the course was to proceed anticlockwise there may be opportunities to create loops allow a more challenging route (hills are round the other side). The out and back posed challenges on narrow muddy paths.
I finished circa 40th place yet my medal didn't come with the new years day ribbon?
£25 otd seems steep for an inaccurate, narrow course and mismatched medal.

I've attended many Nice Work events but this is the first i've felt the need to give an 'average' review.

Naturally I appreciate all the Marshall support for running such an event on NYD but next year I might just opt for parkrun instead.

Having taken part in the Lamberhurst 10km for 4 consecutive years, I was initially disappointed that the course was changed to Bewl Water. However, I actually preferred the new location! The course was lovely, the parking was more convenient, and I loved the medal. The race was well organised as always. My only very small gripe was that I wore my nice road shoes as I was not expecting mud on the course! (this really is petty, and did not affect my overall enjoyment of the day!) Also I liked the post race Kombucha drink on offer.

Really enjoyable race. Loved the course. Really friendly atmosphere and a race for all abilities. Organised well and the staff/volunteers were helpful. They ran out of medals for the slower people at the end but were brilliant at thinking on the spot and changing the band for a different race to a plain one with the same medal. Hoping this race will be the same location and route next year (or would be a great parkrun route also!)
