The Lancaster Marathon is mainly flat apart from the hill at the end of the race which takes you up to the Castle. The route is very spectator friendly and is mainly traffic free.

The race takes in some scenic Lancaster Lune Valley countryside and route maps can be found on The courses are fast and is undulating in parts and the majority of the route is traffic free.

Event Details

Can I wear an iPod or music player?
It is not recommended. For your own safety you need to be aware of what is around you, and to be able to take instructions from marshals.

Is there a baggage store?
There will be a space to store your bag during the race but please try and leave valuables with your cars or leave them with someone.

Where are the toilets?
There are a number of toilets around the Hotel & Castle ground but due to the nature of the venue, there are no additional change facilities. There will be a number of toilets on the route with placings confirmed closer to the day.
