Sportive HQ was formed by Matthew Porter in 2014, after having approximately 10 years experience in the organisation of various types of cycling events. It was very much the feeling that sportives were becoming more expensive over the last few years and that need not be the case, value for money can be put alongside quality events. Sportive HQ works alongside local clubs to produce events that riders will want to do every year. We listen to what riders want from an event and endeavour to meet those requests. At Sportive HQ we like to keep things simple, ample free parking, showers, changing rooms, a timed event with well spaced, well stocked feed stations and routes to challenge everyone of all abilities. Sportive HQ helps in the production of many local charity events and have helped raise, alongside local clubs, in excess of £50,000 for local charities over the last few years.

Route description

Sportive HQ make cycling holidays easy, and don’t ask you to find your own way to the start and back again from the finish. Meet at a location where you can leave your car for a few days and let Sportive HQ take you, your bike and your luggage on holiday!

The meeting location is just 5 minutes from Junction 33 of the M62, ensuring that it is accessible from all directions.

Sportive HQ have broken down this epic journey into manageable sections of roughly 80 - 100 mile per day with a couple of shorter 'recovery days' of 50 - 60 miles in the middle to make sure you don't get too fatigued over the 12 days of cycling.

On Sportive HQ holidays they use two vehicles on the road every day with first aid trained, experienced staff. Each days cycling is between 50 and 100 miles per day. There will be a lead vehicle on the road that will be setting up feed stops along the way, for this distance there will be 2 or 3 stops each day. The other vehicle will be the ‘follow’ vehicle that you will see regularly throughout the day, so there is no need for you to carry extra equipment and clothing with you, the follow vehicle is always accessible.
