It was a good race although I did it solely for training for the London marathon. There wasn't much atmosphere but I didn't expect much especially as it was on an enclosed course not streets. The race marshals were great as usual and offered good support. All in all a good race if you want to do it for a specific time or as part of a training program

It is a tough course but with it being six laps was a Godsend having water on each lap!

It was my first time participating in an organised run. The even was well organised and the staff was extremely helpful. I loved it and will definitely be doing it again.

I do love RT events (and seeing the same, friendly, faces supporting us therein) though, I'll be honest, this one had me a tad worried: the prospect of running the same mile loop 13 times did not appeal. In the end, however, while I can't say I loved this approach it did create something of a metronomic atmosphere but, ultimately, I did enjoy it, helped, in part, by setting the shorter distances off later (10 mile, 10k, 5k, 1 mile (lucky them!)). And with 451ft of ascent this ended up being a surprisingly undulating challenge, as well as a physical (and psychological!) one! The test for me with a new race when I have completed it is to ask 'would I do that again?' and, interestingly, I started at 9:30am asserting this would definitely be a one off yet I now know I would like to give this another 'go'. Great event organisation, as always, from RT. I would, however, like to state that the course finished very long for me at 13.26 miles. I think there is a definite 'creep' on the mile as, each rep, I moved back around the course ever so slightly. This is always a problem on repeat rep loop courses and profoundly so over 13 of them. I'd suggest you place a racing line to optimise the loop to 1 mile - a least run it yourselves to ensure the optimal loop avoids adding that extra 0.16 of a mile. Hope that is helpful. Thanks as everGary Donoghue

There are apparently other toilets in the velodrome - rather than just the limited number by the road circuit
