About
Littleborough is a place made for running and many do not realize some of the great runs that can be had around it. With this in mind, I have designed a fast and picturesque course that is run on good runnable roads, paths and some country lanes. The course, after the first start section, is on a small gradual decline in terms of elevation (see elevation chart). This makes the race feel downhill and makes for a really enjoyable running experience.

Route information
The route starts and finishes from the layby next to the canal behind the train station.
It starts with a 1k gradual climb, moving onto 2 laps around the lake (very flat and scenic) before returning back down the hill (that you came up) for a fast finish.
The course is pretty good for times and several people managed a PB / SB last year.

FAQs
When do I get my race number?
Race numbers and timing chips are to be collected by each runner from Littleborough Conservative Club before 09:40 on race day.
What time do I need to arrive on race day?
You should aim to arrive no later than 09:30 to give you time to register and warm up. Arriving late will only add to the pre race nerves!
Where do the races start?
The races start in the layby opposite the Railway Station on Canal Street, this is a short walk from race HQ.
Is there anywhere to leave my kit?
You can leave kit in the Conservative Club but this will be at your own risk. I like to run with headphones,
can I race with them?
On 1st April 2016 UK Athletics banned the use of headphones in all road races with any length of open single carriage roads and in any race in which the race directors have identified hazards. We have taken the decision to ban headphones of any type from all races. We believe athletes need to be able to hear instructions and warnings from marshals, other athletes and members of the public. Any athlete ignoring this rule will be disqualified and removed from the results with no refund.
