We’re inviting every single one of you to lace up your trainers, dust off the bike or get
the goggles on this September.

Looking after our physical health and mental wellbeing is more important than ever.
Exercise is one of the ways we can do this, as is coming together as team to support
each other achieve a common goal. Which is why we’re setting ourselves the
challenge to run, walk, cycle or swim 10,000km in just 7 days and raise thousands of
pounds to help those who need it most.

10,000km is just shy of 1,429km a day. So, what does that equate to per person?
- If 100 of us sign up, that’s 142km over the week – or 20km a day
- If 250 of us sign up, that’s 40km over the week – or 5.7km a day
- If 500 of us sign up, that’s 20km over the week – or just 2.8km a day
- If all of us sign up…we will have to up our target!

It won’t be easy, but we love a challenge!

To personalise your contribution there are a range of distances per activity, and to
add some friendly competition we’re inviting you to sign up in teams by Directorate.

By getting active and pushing your limits you’ll be healthier, happier and raising
money for loads of good causes.

Prizes up for grabs!
If the feel-good factor isn’t enough, there is also the chance to win a host of great
prizes throughout the challenge. But you’ve got to be in it to win it! From daily
challenges, prize draws and a few secret spot prizes there will be chances for
everyone to win. Look out for our emails to find out more!

Frequently asked questions

How do I record my activity?
To record your activity, you will need to download an activity tracking app that is able to track your distance and time. Popular apps include Strava, Nike Run Club, MapMyRun, and RunKeeper, and are available in the app store for free on your phone. For more details on our favourite tracking apps check out our blog post.
Can I go further than the race distance?
Yes, you can complete a distance further than what the event requires. All you need to do is input distance travelled and time, and we will adjust it down to the time it took to complete the event distance.
