Route information
The clean, clear waters of Loch Ken are ideal for wild swimming. The water is SEPA tested and as part of the hydro electric scheme is regularly filled with fresh water from the Rhinns of Kells. The temperature is usually between 14-15 degrees Celcius and wetsuits are compulsory.

Night Swim
Included in the cost is an illuminated tow float, swim cap and safety cover. There will also be a hot chocolate and sausage roll for afterwards included in the cost. We aim to keep the event as dark as possible but along with the tow floats, the course buoys will be illuminated and the safety boats will be lit with glow sticks. Wetsuits are compulsory for the event.
End to end swim
Entry fees include swim cap, timing chips, transport back after the race, compulsory feed station and parking. Wetsuits and tow-floats are compulsory and both can be hired from the centre (please book towfloat hire in advance if needed, £5 per float).

Are all the events on the same day at the Loch Ken Wild Swim?
No, the night swim is on the Friday, the wild swims on the Saturday and the End to end swim on the Sunday.
Will I get an event t-shirt at the Loch Ken Wild Swim?
Sadly there will not be event t-shirts this year.
Is the Loch Ken Wild Swim safe?
Yes there will be safety boats for all races.
