Route information
This event consists of a kayak on Loch Long for 3.5km on twin sit-on top kayaks (kayaks, paddles and buoyancy aids supplied). Competitors must supply and wear their own wetsuit and footwear for this section. The kayak is followed by a 24km mountain bike section on undulating forest tracks and away from the public road. Competitors must supply their own mountain bike and cycle helmets are mandatory. The final section of the adventure challenge is a 5km run starting on private roads through woodland and forest before running on the pavement alongside Loch Long with views of Arrochar and Ben Lomond.

Event day logistics
Your race number, bike stickers and helmet stickers will be provided at Registration on the morning of the event. We also provide safety pins to attach your race number to your Tri-belt or T-Shirt. Registration will open at 8:30am on the day of the event. We will have a 'Communications base' located just next to registration, where you will find all information about the details of the event. Transition is in the grounds of the Ardgartan Hotel. Only competitors will be allowed in transition. Race briefings for both events will be given by the race director at the Head of Loch Long. Exact timings will be posted on this website closer to the event. The awards ceremony takes place in the Loch Long Hotel at 5:30pm. We have prizes for winning teams (Male, Female and Mixed). This will be based on the cumulative time of the two team members finishing the event. There will also be an individual prize for the fastest male and fastest female. There will be a prize for the first local team and all finishers will receive a memento.
Loch Long Jetty Association
We are a registered Charity called the Loch Long Jetty Association (SC047932) run solely by volunteers. We have recently been very fortunate to receive enough grant funding to allow us to install a picturesque and environmentally friendly jetty on Loch Long in Arrochar along with two visitor moorings. These were installed in June 2019.
