20 times around a 1 mile loop in Locke Park may not be every runner's cup of tea, but there are some advantages: you will pass the water station every mile; you will pass a toilet every mile; no long lonely roads your personal support crew can shout you on during each lap; no cars! A long-distance race is a new event for Locke Park and with not many 20 milers about, this will be a good warm-up for the Spring marathons, of which there are plenty!

Locke Park Series routes
Locke Park 20Ten – rearranged for 28th October, will have a 10 Mile option for the 20 miler. Aimed at those who perhaps don’t get in the required training or don’t feel that good on the day (20 miles is a long way!). Only one race to enter and you can decide any time up to 9.9 miles if you are doing the 10 Mile or 20 Mile. For the 10 miler you must stop at 10 miles, if you drop out after that, you will be considered “Did Not Finish”. As an Autumn race rather than a Spring one it’s perhaps a chance to race a 20 miler in its own right rather than a prep race for a marathon.
