This was not my first event with Nice Work but it may well have been my last. The organisation was pretty poor, the staff seemed disinterested and the RD even worse - she was chatting to colleagues when runners were finishing rather than giving that last minute needed encouragement etc. The announcements regarding the course/race at the beginning was so quiet only those right at the front could hear (the rest of us just had to guess what she was saying). The staff were packing everything away before all the runners had finished. Also, people were driving from the house along the run route, whilst there were runners there - I appreciate that people have other responsibilities but this was a bit treacherous for those runners. Overall, I was shocked and disappointed by the whole event.
Unfortunately the course was 3.3 miles. I must say the race director was fantastic and all the nice work staff brilliant as always.
The course was good, but as it was 3 loops of the same route, it could have been a little bit more interesting given the location. The race was well organised and the marshals were really supportive.
Nice park and challenging race but 3 laps for the 10k including that long drawn out incline is a bit soul destroying. A revised route would be good with fewer repeats
Couldn’t hear any of the announcements at the beginning.Nice quiet atmosphere. Course a bit dull and measured wrong.
As an Older runner I love the way the nice work team supports me in all their races I have run in Would have loved to have done the 10k but at the moment not possible, Just a shame the Ramathon is on Sunday in which I was supposed to do the 5 mile but not well enough to do it pleased I was able to do this one and will do it again well done to Nice work for a job well done
It was a shame more people didn't turn up, a half-marathon on Sunday apparently, but the venue was amazing. The bad, couldn't hear the starter announcement, boards on cattle grid would be a good idea but side gates were opened, the course was 600m too long, confirmed by several people I spoke to. No goody bag, plus awning over medal table to stop the biscuits getting soggy would have been a good idea. The good, excellent location, challenging course, the hill was an experience. The marshall's were excellent and v friendly. I won my age category (55) and got a pb for the 10k distance. Didn't see any unhappy faces tbh.I think the 5k route could have better signage on where to turn to finish rather than relying on the marshall to spot their race number.10k 3rd lap perhaps shorten the park section so that the hill is retained. Probably need to move the Start/Finish location to enable this. 600m is a big overshoot.Anyway, well done on the event, I hope it becomes more popular, it deserves it.
The course could have used more of the public footpaths though the estate and the cattle grids needed blocking off or covered with a board ( I would love to see the risk assessment for them ). The 10k course was 600m to long how I don't no because all you need to do was move the dog leg 200m down the hill No goodie bag like advertised Nice work need to work harder I'm sorry for the bad review but someone needs to tell you the truth
An enjoyable morning although the route was actually 10.65km according to my device, which seems a long way out!! Would have been nice if there was a bit more variety with the route (3 laps of the same course running up to a Marshall and back on yourself each time) but the setting of Locko Park was very nice with some lovely friendly marshalls and other runners.
Yes I was confused about going the start / finish line for another half a lap as didn't know whether to carry on running or not this added about 1 minute to my time.
