You will start this route from the dam wall at Fairholmes, running out onto the shores of the Derwent reservoirs. Within the first mile, you will take on Abbey Mount, the toughest climb of the course. Then witness some incredible rock formations as you trail the upper edges of the Derwent Valley for the rest of the route.

It is recommended to use the laybys on the way down to the main visitor's car park as some of them are free. However, there is a pay and display car park in the main visitors centre also. The machine takes card payments.
