Route information
10 Miler
Starting at Spooner Lake, you will head north on the North Canyon Trail, followed by the south shore of Marlette lake onto the Marlette lake trail and back to the finish. Along with this run take in the amazing views of the canyons and the snow valley peaks. If you get hot, no need to worry, you can easily take a plunge in the lake during the race.
50k
This route will take you along some truly awe-inspiring trails, there will be 360 panoramic views to take in of Lake Tahoe and the Carson Valey and its range. There will be aid stations accessible along the route to keep you fueled and hydrated. Expect some climbs throughout this route, as you traverse the Tahoe Rim Trail to Snow Valley Peak.
From mile 26 onwards, the course is mainly downhill with flat sections for the final four miles. Finishing at Spooner Lake, why not take in the great views and take a dip for a post-race cool down?

Being that there is really no crew access to the course if you could provide a list on the website of the food that is supplied at the aid stations. I wouldn’t consider Gatorade a suitable Electrolyte drink. That is what I was told was provided by an aid station volunteer.

I was disappointed there was not much “lake” in the Marlette Lake 10M. I was a little surprised we are running by or near Spooner, Marlette, and Tahoe but only caught bare glimpses of them. This was a forest trail run, not a lake run.My other feedback is that I didn’t love having to carry my t-shirt (and other gear if I wanted it, like a glass or hat) the whole way. The organizer said she would be all packed up by the time we got back. If there is a full lunch and grill and all, couldn’t we have merch tent at finish line? Instead my t-shirt was flapping at my waist the whole time.Lastly, little to no communication. I signed up but never received a single details email about it. I tried to park at the paid lot but wasn’t informed ahead of time that it was cash only. I had to turn around and park at the other recommended lot, by the road. I took the trail in (as recommended) and had to ask trail-goers which way was the main parking lot because there were no signs. I reached the main parking lot, the one that requires cash, but had to continually ask people where the start line was, where I pick up my bib. Please consider there are many paths on the trail and at the parking lot and, especially early in the morning when people don’t know their way around and trying to hustle to start line, people need more communication, not less. Half a dozen a-frame billboards with signs and arrows would address this.

Aid stations were underwhelming. I was really looking forward to pb&j lol. But the water and Gatorade were awesome. The middle miles had zero markers. I seriously thought we were lost and going the wrong way. It all worked out though!Will definitely be back next year. Great job to all!

It was a great event. Loved the course. The only problem is that I was put in the men's division instead of the women's on the result page. Nancy King. I think I would have gotten 3 rd in my age group

Hi there. Packet Pick-up is only on Sunday from 6-7am and unfortunately you can not park at Spooner Lake with an RV. You could try for something nearby. The best recommended spots are near the HWY 50 and HWY 28 intersection! :)

i can’t figure out how to submit a new question, so i’m just replying to this one. what is your policy on COVID exposure? specifically, is there a policy to cover if a participant has been exposed to someone who recently tested positive for COVID?

Hi there. Unfortunately you can not park at Spooner Lake with an RV. You could try for something nearby. The best recommended spots are near the HWY 50 and HWY 28 intersection! :)
