Route information

Half Marathon

This Half Marathon is not to be underestimated. With undulating hills and tough climbs, runners will really enjoy the downhill descent to the finish line.

Walking the tough hills might make more progress than running up them, so don't be afraid to walk them.

After climbing half of the total elevation of the course (1020ft) in less than 5 miles, runners will reach the highest point of the course, Parmoor. Do not be dispirited: you have some easier running ahead of you.

Next comes the long descent of 350ft all the way down to the Hambleden Valley, taking in stunning views wherever you look.

Runners will need a second half push to get up to Rockwell End, then a quick 150ft down and straight back up, before you arrive back at Marlow Common to complete a full circle.

Your legs will now reawaken to the fabulous two mile descent to the finish, you can put all the hard work behind you as you enjoy the elation of completing this short but tough race.

7 Mile

Starting in Marlow town, runners will tackle the longest climb of the whole course first. Hang in there, the gradient does ease gradually and at Bovingdon Green you have a mile or so of easier running.

3 big dippers follow in a 2 mile stretch, meaning 3 quick up and downs. After the first dipper, theres a short reprieve from all the hill running follows with some level running and descents before the second big dipper.

Bockmer End and you turn the corner back towards Marlow. You have conquered half the miles and three quarters of the climb.

The final drama awaiting you is the third big dipper 150ft down and straight back up, until you find Marlow Common again and you have ran full circle.

Your legs will now reawaken to the fabulous two mile descent to the finish, you can put all the hard work behind you as you enjoy the elation of completing this short but tough race.

Refunds/Transfers

If the event is cancelled or postponed due to COVID-19, all entrants will be transferred to the 2022 race. No refunds will be available. If the event cannot happen for any other reason, the organisers T&Cs apply.

The Half Marathon has a cut-off time of 3 hours. There is a 2 hour time limit to get to the 8 mile mark of the course. Please be aware of this when signing up.
