This is a one-lap flat course which will be clearly marked. There will be drinks stations every 7 miles approx. The course is traffic free but does cross a number of busy roads, these will be marshalled.

The surfaces are generally good, and are suitable for normal road shoes.

FAQs

WHEN WILL YOU SEND ME MY RACE NUMBER?

Race numbers are collected on the day at registration (safety pins also provided) . You will also receive your 'chip' transponder to wear

ARE DOGS ALLOWED ON YOUR EVENTS?

Much as we love our four-legged friends, UK Athletics who grant our race permits, do not allow dogs in our events

DO YOU PROVIDE CUPS?

To help do our bit for the environment by trying to reduce plastic waste and also the amount of rubbish going to landfill, plastic cups are no longer provided on events. Please bring a re-usable bottle that you can re-fill during the race, and also a cup/mug suitable for a hot drink in your finish bag

DO I NEED TO BRING FOOD/DRINK?

We provide drinks & snacks (and hot food on longer events). Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements. Supporters will need to bring their own food & drink. On ultra events we have a 'drop' box for you to leave your own bottle/snack with us to take to the half-way point

CAN I GUARANTEE TO GET THE RIGHT T-SHIRT SIZE?

The organisers aim to provide all participants with the t-shirt size they request on entry. However, the order has to go to the manufacturers well in advance of the event, so they cannot guarantee specific sizes on event day. They will offer you the size you requested or the nearest possible size if not available.

CAN I WEAR HEADPHONES?

Yes headphones are permitted. Please take note of safety information at race briefings, and remove earphones on road sections/crossings

WILL YOU TAKE RACE PHOTOS?

There is not an official photographer but Crew make take a few photos to capture the event and use on the website / social media. Please let us know if you don't wish to have your photo used in this way

WHEN WILL I GET MY RESULTS?

Chip timings are used at the events, and usually don't have internet access out on site. When we have an indoor finish venue we generally show results live on a screen, however full results will be published online within 48 hours of the event.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I RETIRE MID-EVENT?

If you need to retire please do so at a checkpoint by notifying the Crew and handing in your chip-timing strap. You are responsible for transport home, however if there are Crew vehicles available they will try to assist with transport to the finish

DO I REALLY HAVE TO BRING THE MANDATORY KIT?

Mandatory kit is exactly what it says, MANDATORY!

  • Did the Marathon in 2019

This is a beautiful race, the scenery and views are amazing. Due to this being a trail run spectator support is at a minimum, however the checkpoint support was phenomenal and well stocked. The organisation of this run was brilliant, I would run this again.
  • Did the Marathon in 2019

Great well organised with lovely Marshals. Great finish through the town centre. Hard packed trails with only a little mud.
  • Did the Marathon in 2019

This would definitely be a great marathon for any first timer. The course is flat with many sections of gentle downhill running. The surfaces were good to very good with only a little mud.
  • Did the Half Marathon in 2019

Really enjoyed today halfmarathon. Definitely will do it again next year. Well done to everyone who was organised this event.
  • Did the Marathon in 2018

Absolutely loved it, one of my favourite marathons. Lovely, not too challenging course, fantastic marshals and great atmosphere.
  • Did the Half Marathon in 2018

I really enjoyed the experience, because it is along an old railway line, there are not many places that people can support you, and at times did feel quite lonely. The checkpoint was excellent, plenty to eat and drink with someone marking you off to stay you had arrived. A nice crowd of people at the end of the race at the town hall with plenty of space to recover. All the marshalls were very friendly and helpful.
